I've been bad about blogging, sorry. There has been so much going on. Now that we've made it past the Holidays, 1st trimester of pregnancy (baby is due 8/8/09), and we just got back from Colorado I have so many things I want to do - including updating the blog. For those of you that don't know, we went up to Colorado (working on getting the pics downloaded for you to see) for Dave & Shannon's (Warren's sister) wedding. They had a beautiful wedding in Breckenridge, CO on Valentine's Day. It was so wonderful. There were a total of 20 of us that stayed together for the weekend and siblings, parents & Aunt/Uncle. The funny thing is that you would think that would uncomfortable, but it was great. Everyone connected right away and it was like seeing old relatives - we had so much fun. I can't tell you how many times I tried to keep the tears in that weekend; watching loved ones exchange vows before God with this humbling view behind was breathtaking. I know, I'm either turning into a big sap or this pregnancy is doing it but I feel so full of love. I am truly blessed to have my children, wonderful husband, in-laws that I absolutely adore and my family that I cherish. I don't know what I have done to deserve this happiness but I am making more of an effort to thank God every day because nothing would be possible without Him.

Grandpa McCleary

So mom and dad let us know that Grandpa McCleary was going in today for a CT and has a follow up appt Wednesday. Without going into too many details and due to the lack of details we have it sounds like they're checking for prostate cancer. He's already decided he isn't going to do anything if the diagnosis isn't good. I wish he would consider treatment, but that's me being selfish; I don't blame him. My biggest problem is that I feel terrible for so many reasons; I haven't been to Florida to see them in 10+ years. They have never met the twins and I want the twins to meet them and know them. I want my Grandparents to meet Warren and see how happy we are. So, depending on the appointment this Wednesday, we have to sit down as a family and figure out what we can do about this. Maybe go to FL over Thanksgiving break? I can't miss seeing him like I did with Grandpa Smart. I know I'm jumping ahead as if I'm expecting a bad diagnosis - hopefully that won't be the case. I pray that this is just an eye opener and we can plan our next vaca to go to FL.

Kindergarten

Today was the 1st day of kindergarten. The girls had fun - mommy felt like her babies are slipping away. I know this will grow on me, but I feel like the 2nd day will be even worse. I just drop them off and leave them in the cafeteria - then they line up at 7:30 to go to the kinder hallway. What if they don't make it to class? What if they wander around and get lost, or walk outside looking for me or 1 of them need to go potty and get left behind. I know, I'm thinking about it too much - is that normal? I hope it's normal because I can't stop worrying. Oh, Cassidy's teacher included a letter tonight - homework starts next week. It's kindergarten - I thought we would have more time before homework began.

Changes are Happening

The girls start kindergarten on the 25th (eek) and their open house is tomorrow night. Which is the beginning of some busy times ahead. I will pick them up from the sitter's (they've been seeing my boss' mom during the day and staying and Grammy & Papa's for 3 weeks), go home and get ready for Open House. We will have 90 minutes to meet both teachers and ask them all the questions we have. Afterwards, we are getting Callie and going to San Antonio. We will get Larissa and we are going to Sea World Friday to celebrate my b-day (Tiffany's). I am so excited and I think the girls are going to have a blast. Cassidy has asked everyone for the past week, at least twice a day, if she can ride a dolphin at Sea World - today she told me she thinks they'll let her. She really loves the dolphins and has never seen Shamu; this will be the best b-day gift ever!

Then, we have to get ready for school. Oh my, I am so excited about kindergarten, but I'm so scared. What a big step in their lives. I think about them making new friends which is awesome, but then they'll want to go to their house to play, and sleep overs, eating over, OMG! And they're so far from me. I'm used to them being across the street from my work. I can't go check on them if I feel like it; they can't call me during the day if they don't feel well. And what about school bullies... I hope they don't get picked on and there's nothing I can do about it. Sigh! I know this is so minor in the grand scheme of things, but it's so big in their little lives right now and my babies are growing up... and mommy isn't ready.

Shortly after school starts, comes the fun. We have them signed up for soccer! We got their cleats and shinguards. It is going to be so darn cute & fun! We'll have to update the log with their games so maybe some of you can come see.

Thanks for all the... creative? pictures you took with the disposable cameras at the wedding. Below is the link to see your pictures. I think you can also order prints from there. Let me know if you have problems viewing. A lot of pictures didn't come out - fingers in the way, no flash, etc, but there are quite a few that made it - there are a lot of duplicates. Sorry, this isn't the best website; I wouldn't recommend doing this if you know any one getting married.

I found out last week that I had a kidney infection. Fun times. That has been causing a lot of my pain. As a matter of fact, I'm doing a lot better and I don't have hardly any pain in my back now. Too bad the first doctor didn't find it.

Dad is doing better. He got his stitches removed and wears the neckbrace during the day; not necessary at night any more.

We're still planning on seeing Mimi in August when we go to San Angelo on the 8th. Thank you for keeping her in your prayers.

Health Updates

Dad had his surgery Tuesday and he's doing better. Uncomfortable & sore, but that's to be expected. He got sick from the pain meds Wednesday but he's doing better now. He's been home since Wed and he just needs to take it 1 day at a time. He has 6 weeks of recovery and he's almost 1 week into it... only 5 weeks left.

Mimi is in the hospital. She's had a rough week - had a clot in her lungs and she's back in the hospital today. Last we heard, the doctors aren't sure if she had a stroke, or if it was something else (may have been a TIA). Please keep her in your prayers; she hasn't been doing well for a while now and we plan to take all the kids to see her on August 8th (if not sooner with today's events).

Before heading to San Angelo on the 8th, I go in for an ultrasound late morning. I have a small ovarian cyst which isn't going away. My doctor thought it would be gone by now but the pain is almost unbearable some days and is keeping me up at night so the doctor wants to look at it and may have to remove it by laparoscopy. However, I'm still hoping this cyst will take care of itself.

New Job

Warren started his new job tonight at Academy. Let me clarify, his 2nd job. We want to get everything paid off from the wedding. It isn't much fun being home without him. But, we have done laundry, took the trash out, went to HEB, got gas (instead of rushing in the morning), cleaned the kitchen since having company over this weekend, ate dinner, and had to clean the kitchen again... and wrote a blog! I actually thought we'd go for a walk tonight, it was a little humid, but nice breeze... didn't have time with the laundry and cleaning. I need to make a goal to walk everynight he's at work. It'll be good for all of us. I hope he isn't unhappy with this extra job - he will be working in the hunting and fishing dept after all; I can't imagine he'll be too miserable there :)

Dad has his surgery tomorrow and I'm sure we'll post a blog as soon as we can after getting good news about his recovery. Not sure if Warren will be working tomorrow, but I'm going to take the girls to the hospital to see dad after work. Please keep him in your prayers. He has a few hard weeks ahead and poor mom will also need strength; especially tomorrow. I have to work tomorrow; will need to stay busy (I'm sure that won't be too difficult) so I'm not worrying all morning.

Well, there hasn't been much going on in the Moorman household (as you can see by the lack of blogs). We're still trying to slow down since the wedding and honeymoon. We spent the 4th with the McCleary Clan in Kyle and everyone was there... but Scotty :( - kidney stones kept him from Kyle for the weekend. We all had tons of food and a lot of fun. The kids grow up so fast. Which brings me to my next thought...

Kiersten & Cassidy are starting school on August 25th. I can't believe it. They won't be my little babies anymore; this is the next big step in their lives and I am so excited for them... and so nervous for me. They'll make new friends, learn so many new things, and have many more influences in their lives. Which can be a good thing, but for the most part I see that as more kids teaching them how to get away with their little tantrums and attitudes. The girls are so impressionable and Kiersten already quotes EVERYTHING (with her hands on those little hips).

Tiff's Dad is having surgery on the 15th. Please keep him in your prayers. It probably won't help with his pain, but he has a pinched nerve in the back of his neck that needs to be operated on so he doesn't become paralyzed - which would happen if that nerve closes. He will be in a neck brace 24/7 for 10 days, then get the stitches removed. He can't drive for 6 weeks and must wear the neckbrace during the day (or was it when he was sleeping??) after the stitches are removed. The doctor hasn't sugar-coated the procedure; he will probably be in pain afterwards and not to mention, who wants to be laid up for 6 weeks and can't go anywhere?? Not me!

Since May 9th, the a/c in the house has been on the fritz and was messing with us. It would seem like there was an issue, we would think about calling someone, then it would be fine. Well, it went out this weekend. Like as in DEAD! It was not good. We went to the lake Sat and we get home to the a/c on the fritz again. Well, Sunday was real bad... then came Monday. That was absolutely dreadful so we stayed with Joe. Oh, that was much better... just not home.

Long story, short (I know, too late) - it just got fixed and it feels so much better. It's only been like 30 minutes and it feels so much better in here. Don't ask me what was wrong with it; something about it being so hot that it was working too hard. I don't know why or what, but I do know that it is working right now so I'm a happy momma again.

The Wedding

We made it through the wedding & the honeymoon and we're back to normal (somewhat). It's so hard getting back to reality after such a week in Mexico. Jon & Shannon gave me the idea to start blogging. I think this will be a great way to keep in touch with all of our friends & family, especially the one's that don't live in the Austin area. We'll add pics as we get them and try to keep everyone posted on happenings with our new family.
